A Shippensburg-based electronics manufacturer has acquired a Massachusetts company.

L-Tronics is a 33-year-old company that manufactures printed circuit assemblies, wire harnesses, and OEM electrical mechanical devices. The transaction was completed in December. Terms of the deal weren’t disclo

“The integration of this new facility will equip Niche with redundant sites in three geographical locations, making it able to shift production in the event of service interruptions from machine outages, natural disasters, fires or other unforeseen circumstances,” the company said in a news release.

Niche Electronics manufactures circuit board assemblies for many industries. Niche has operated from its 20,000-square-foot headquarters in Shippensburg since 1997 and has had a 21, 000-square-foot facility in Sarasota, Florida since 2016. The purchase of the Waltham location will add 8,000 square feet of space and 30 new Niche employees.

“This new addition represents the beginning of a more accelerated period of planned growth for us,” Frank Bowman, CEO of Niche, said in a news release. “We’re excited about our increased presence in an industry whose own growth shows no sign of slowing.
